A gift made to The Diabetes Family Connection is so much MORE than just a charitable donation - you’re giving a gift that lasts a lifetime to a family affected by diabetes. Diabetes can be burdensome, exhausting, and isolating - in fact, research shows that individuals living with diabetes are at two to three times greater risk for developing depression. At The Diabetes Family Connection, we’re on a mission to positively transform life with diabetes through the power of community! Our year-round programs focus on building confidence, optimism, and support for people living with diabetes and their families.
Each year, The DFC has the privilege of serving over 300 unique families affected by Type 1 diabetes through nine geographically dispersed programs (including the LARGEST diabetes camp in the state of North Carolina). We’re looking to GROW and we need YOUR help!

THE QUICK FACTS:
The Diabetes Family Connection is an independent, nonprofit organization. 100% of our funding is generated through charitable contributions and enrollment fees.
Living with Type 1 diabetes is EXPENSIVE. We do everything in our power to make our programs as affordable as possible for our participants. The cost of ALL of our programs are heavily subsidized thanks to the generosity of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers. We want EVERYONE to be able to experience the magic of camp!
In 2019 alone, we were able to provide over $25,000 in partial and full scholarships to families in financial need.
The DFC is staffed by over 100 dedicated volunteers. By keeping our overhead expenses to a bare minimum, we’re able to direct donations where they will make the most impact. Nearly every dollar donated to The DFC is immediately directed toward camper scholarships and subsidizing enrollment fees.
The Diabetes Family Connection is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, EIN: 82-5369641. Contributions to The Diabetes Family Connection may be tax deductible to the maximum extent permissible by law.
